Ashley Hilchie holds a Doctorate in Microbiology and Immunology from Dalhousie University with a focus on cancer research. Dr. Hilchie spent 5 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia where she studied novel antimicrobials for antibiotic-resistant infections, and established an independent research program where she remains actively engaged as an Adjunct Professor at Acadia University.
Dr. Hilchie brings 5 years’ experience working in biotech where she held leadership roles in Project Management and Clinical Translational Research, with an emphasis on managing the product development pipeline from ideation to clinical trial.
Dr. Hilchie joined Nova Scotia Health as the Director of Clinical Research Operations in 2023 where she led several programs, including NovaStudies Connect and the Human Research Protection Program. She is passionate about making it easier to execute high quality research at Nova Scotia Health, working with the research community to expand the research portfolio, and improving access to research at a provincial scale.
