Yarmouth Youth Health Innovation Workshop

News and Updates RSS

The RBC Youth Health Innovation workshop in Yarmouth is a hands-on session at Yarmouth high School to help make youth feel empowered to talk about and face mental health issues head on.

The mission for students will be to identify the barriers they think young people experience every day that prevent them from getting effective mental healthcare, and come up with solutions to improve access.

The workshop will feature sessions with entrepreneurs, mental health and addictions experts and an opportunity to work together with fellow classmates to develop solutions for mental healthcare for young Nova Scotians.

Among the presenters will be Yarmouth-born-and-raised Joel Muise, a renowned Nova Scotia entrepreneur who founded Tranquility Online, a free tool that provides users experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression with real time mental health support.

Part of the RBC Youth Health Innovation Workshop in Yarmouth is a $2,000 donation to the Yarmouth Highschool Headstrong Group, a student-led group that encourages youth to talk about and address mental health issues in their school.
