The Research Education Program offers valuable educational opportunities for members of the research communities at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health, while also facilitating student research placements.
Training and Education for Researchers
As health research grows in scale, complexity, and diversity, maintaining high standards is more important than ever. New research regulations and guidelines ensure the protection of participants and the collection of high-quality data. To meet these evolving demands, ongoing training is essential for all research team members. Through interactive workshops, online learning, and a mentoring program, new staff and investigators at Nova Scotia Health receive comprehensive education on the standards and regulations governing high-caliber research.
Research Placements for Students
The Research Education Program also manages student placements, including Dalhousie University’s Research in Medicine (RIM) program. We ensure that placement requirements are met, including an existing affiliation agreement between Nova Scotia Health and the academic institution, as well as supervisor approval from a Nova Scotia Health staff member or affiliate scientist.
