Advancing Healthcare Innovation from Concept to Market

The Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub is advancing the future of healthcare by testing and scaling transformative innovations that benefit patients, providers, and communities. To further this mission, we are seeking experienced consultancies to provide expert, in-kind strategic guidance to enhance our commercialization and intellectual property (IP) portfolios.

We invite proven partners to collaborate with us in optimizing our "innovation-to-market" framework, helping to generate commercial value and long-term economic development across Nova Scotia.

Scope of Collaboration

Selected partners will work alongside the Innovation Hub team to focus on three interconnected domains:

  • Portfolio Strategy and Prioritization: Assessing existing IP to identify market opportunities, define go-to-market strategies, and develop supporting business cases.
  • Commercialization Strategy Development: Building robust strategies for new ventures, strategic partnerships, and licensing arrangements.
  • Prototype Development and Early-Stage Validation: Guiding minimum viable product (MVP) development and testing in real-world clinical and operational settings.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome submissions from firms with a proven track record in healthcare commercialization and a demonstrated ability to transform ideas into viable outcomes. Key areas of expertise include:

  • Go-to-Market Execution & Transformation.
  • Intellectual Property & Data Governance (with strict adherence to Canadian privacy laws).
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management in complex healthcare environments.

In-Kind Contribution Model

Please note that this Call for Submissions is specifically for in-kind contributions of services and resources.

  • This call will not create a paid service provider relationship.
  • Nova Scotia Health will not provide monetary compensation in return for contributions.
  • Participating in this process provides a transparent and fair pathway for potential partners to engage with the Hub while mitigating risks of perceived bias.

  • Closing Date: This is an Open Call; however, Nova Scotia Health reserves the right to close the call at any time.

Important Process Notes

  • No Obligation to Select: Nova Scotia Health reserves the sole right to determine which, if any, submissions will be selected for any phase of this process. There is no guarantee that any submissions will be selected for evaluation or that this call will result in a selection, partnership, or any future work. Nova Scotia Health may, at its sole discretion, decide not to move forward with any submission at any point.
  • Non-Binding Process: This invitation for proposals does not constitute an offer to contract. Selection for an engagement does not guarantee future work or subsequent contracts.
  • Confidentiality: Once a submission is received, Nova Scotia Health may enter into a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to facilitate the exchange of detailed information.
  • IP Ownership: Any IP or methodologies refined through this engagement shall remain the sole property of Nova Scotia Health or the original rights holder
